My New Domestic Helper

My new domestic helper is much smaller and not as noisy as the previous one..I am talking about my new Samsung vacuum cleaner here, not the human helper one would thought, ^.^

Our old Singer Vacuum cleaner of more than 10 years finally called it a quit.  It produced a burning smell when I used it about 2 months ago, I was so scare it would burn and explode, so I prefer to stop using it rather than hurting myself.  We redeemed it from Cosway after collecting enough coupons by selling boxes and boxes of moon cakes then.  It did a good job like any other vacuum cleaner but surprisingly our new Samsung vacuum cleaner though smaller in size has better suction powder in comparison, the new Samsung vacuum cleaner is lighter and more portable for me to carry up and down the stairs.

The new Samsung Vaccum cleaner, the last in stock.   The price is relatively reasonable.  A newer model is already out in the shop to replace this one but we do not mind the older model.

Our old Singer Vacuum cleaner, I always have the problem in keeping the wire in place.  It uses the washable dust bag, I am really glad that Clet was the one who help to clean the dust bag all along.
 the old and the new
it is a bagged type, collecting all the dust into the bag convenient to dispose off when it is full. No more washing of dust bag.
very basic with only 3 types of suction nozzles, it's good enough for me.  Just hope that it will lasts.

Tissue papers in the laundry!!!!!

I do most of my laundry over the weekend.  I thought I could finish them off and take a nap as soon as I can, as I need to "recharge my batteries" on weekends.  Upon hearing the pip sound from the machine telling me that it is done for me to hang them up to catch the bright sun light.  I got stressed out when I saw this.....
tissue papers sticking on the clean clothes, on every single piece of cloth and pants.  Meaning I have to remove the broken pieces of tissue papers off from this bunch of laundry.
Can you imagine how troublesome it is to remove them?
At the end I took more time than usual to do my laundry.  This packet of tissue could be from one of my girl's school uniform pocket which I gave them to bring to school, did not realise that it is still in the pocket, I should have checked every pockets before putting them to the machine, my fault :(

House repair

The tenant of our house that we bought last October has surrendered the keys back to us on the last day of March 2011. When we bought the house, there was a ready tenant, we let them continue to stay there until a couple of months back he was unable to pay for his rental on time so he decided to move out for good.

Last Saturday, I brought my girls to view the inside of the house for the first time (I have never been inside the house when we bought it) when Clet was clearing and cleaning up the mess there. A lot of cleaning up and touching up for this 20 over years old house. We decided to touch it up a little in an inexpensive way just to allow us to move in as soon as possible before another month is up to pay for our rented house.

We do not intend to do any renovation work at the moment, there is no budget for it. Clet will do the touching up of the house with the help of one or two workers . the work started yesterday. According to him, a lot has been done to remove the broken cement ceilings yesterday and today another worker came in to cut the long wild grass at both the front and back yards.

Clet is working his mind out to get the house in shape for us to move in. Will update on the progress again in my coming posts and I have a lot of catching up to do with my blogger friends as I have not been blogging and visiting their blogs for a while now.

Tidying up...again

When we moved in to our new home 4 months ago, we basically just packed the stuff from our old home and unloaded them in our new home without proper planning, many of the stuff remained in the boxes or pushed into the store room. I realised that the room is now too packed for us to even go in to search for things we need. It's time for me to start tidying it up, hopefully I can find my blender to make some mangoes juice. I did find my blender jug but my blender motor still nowhere to be found. It took me 3 hours to tidy up this room.
Before tidying up, the door can hardly opened because there were stuff behind the door. Boxes filled with tupperware and other stuff were on the floor made it hard to search for things. Sometimes I find myself lost in there.

After re-organizing the stuff in the shelves, I was able to store more stuff in there. Less boxes are needed and the door can be wide opened now. All my tupperware containers, baking and cooking utensils are organised in the middle shelves (eye level position) so that I can find them easily. Not that I do baking or cooking all the time but it would be convenient for me to get them when I am in a baking mood. No excuses.
I found 6 lovely gala lilies glasses which we have been keeping for many years, it's time for us to use them now, rather than keeping them in the box for more forgotten years.

TUESDAY TOOT - CLEAR LAUNDRY

I was trying to clear the bucket full of dirty clothes since Sunday but was delayed somehow due to joy riding the whole day and was lucky to be back at home just minutes before the heavy down pour. Monday was a busy day for delivery of clients' order and was exhausted after that. Here comes Tuesday that I have got the chance to pick up dirty clothes here and there. The machine was loaded three times in order to clear all the backloads. It was also lucky that the sun shined so brightly to dry up the first two loads of clothes today. Looks like the bucket is half filled up again...:(
