Beverages Vending Machine

I am fascinated whenever I see this type of beverages vending machine, especially the Nescafe coffee vending machine which dispenses beverages.  Even my eldest daughter thinks I am a bit strange.

We came across one at Palm Square, Central Point Shopping Complex last weekend.  While waiting for our princesses to window shop at their favourite shops, my better half offered to get me a drink from this machine because he knows me well.

after queuing for a while, it's our turn to buy a hot drink
This machine accepts both coins and notes..slotted in RM1.00, we waited for the machine to process our drinks..
can you see the 3 red lights ?  When the forth lights appeared means the drinks is done and ready to collect from the glass box below.
Here is a cup of hot Teh Tarik, I wanted a cup of hot coffee but there's none only cold ones available.  This Teh Tarik is a bit sweet, the paper cup is a bit small and thin, too hot to hold around the cup as well, a bit difficult to handle.  Hope there will be some enhancements when I buy a drink from this machine again.

Sales at Popular Book Store

There are a selection of books on sale at Popular Book Store now.  At RM10.00 per book is a very good bargain.  After ran through the books displayed on Sales, they are mostly novels,  Luckily I am not a novel reader, I will definitely buy half a dozen of them if I love to read novels and all my house works will come to a halt for me to finish reading them.

I always want to read the biography of notable and successful people.  There are a handful of these books on the shelves but they are not on discount sales.
It is interesting to know the life journey of these world's successful notable people, their ups and downs in life hopefully will somehow give us some inspirations to excel in our own endeavors.

I did not buy any books from this visit.  My better half has chosen these 2 books : "101 Econimics" @ 25% off, Discounted price is RM27.67 and "Buy High Sell Higher" for RM10.00 for he would like to know more about Forex and he wants me to read more about stock market.
I wonder how many small traders can make money from Forex and stock market??  Big Question Marks here --> ????

Food in the Philippines

Before heading to do some Christmas shopping, we had breakfast at the famous fast food chain, Jolibee.  The franchise was in Sabah at one time many years ago.  I wonder whether we could find any of its outlet in Malaysia now.

Beef served with rice.  The beef is very tasty well marinated.
Our girls chose their favourite Hot Dogs with lots of cheese topping, served with rich soup.

My breakfast, Lasagne with garlic bread.

One of the ice cream outlets serve their flavoured ice cream in little balls shape

While the daddy doing his shopping at the men's section, our girls entertained themselves, sitting around or doing funny acts in  front of the mirrors.  They were tired after a couple of days of walking and shopping.
Choosing stars decorations for Christmas, we bought 3 of them in different colours.

One of the nights, we had our dinner at Sugarhouse, a small cake house cum restaurant nearby our hotel serving Western and Philippino's cuisine.
our girls had Fettuccine Carbonara.  A serving tossed in a rich cream sauce.  Topped generously with bacon bits and finished with a dash or two of Parmesan, PHP165.00 (RM12.40) per serving.  The taste is somewhat different from what they usually had.
Tuna Melt, a serving of tuna topped with melted mozzarella on a lightly toasted soft roll, served with side salad, PHP180.00 (RM13.50).  The lettuce is fresh, the burger is not bad too.
Another cheesy pasta for our girls, Baked Macaroni.  It is served with a medley of meat, tomatoes, cream sauce and loads of cheese, PHP195.00 (RM14.65)
Beef Salpicado.  Tenderloin cubes in captivating salpicado sauce served with garlic rice, tomato salsa and a side salad, PHP350.00 (RM26.25).  The beef is very tasty.

One the 5th day, we had our lunch at SM mall before heading to the airport.  As time is limited, we picked one of the small eatery to settle our lunch.   I think this is Daing.  Milk fish which has been dried, salted and marinated in vinegar with garlic and fried.  I was told that this dish is also made famous in Tawau too, a fast growing town at the east coast of Sabah.
Tapsilog, dried beef served with rice

Lots of brownies.  I am not a chocolate lover so these did not tempt me much.  But we brought back some as gifts.

Though we had lunch before we boarded the aircraft,  the pre-ordered in flight meals had became our tea break.
 Spaghetti Bolognese Combo
chicken pops, mashed potatoes and diced carrots

Bukhara chicken Briyani combo, a bit too hot and spicy for me

Panini Chicken Combo

We are Home Sweet Home not long after we had our "Tea Break".

Travelling is tiring. After our Genting/KL trip in November and travelled to the Philippines in December, our girls asked us to give them a year break before we could go for another holiday...:D..After all school term will be starting soon..no time for holiday lo..

Shop at Martin Margiela

The typical way of shopping for clothing, shoes and accessories is to pop into the shops whenever we feel like especially when the outfits on the models on display have attracted our eyes.

Recently, buying from the online shopping malls has becoming popular, no doubts we can save time, away from the problem of traffic congestion, and enjoy shopping spree at the comfort of our home, I still find something amiss without the physical feel and touch of the products we are about to buy, more often than not, the quality of the products are not up to our expectation. Returning of the products and getting the money refunded would be a long process at times. Therefore, I still reckon that the most enjoyable way to shop is to patronize the boutique ourselves, to feel, touch and put the outfits on for a try. Buy when we are really satisfy with it.

If price is not an issue or you have a high budget for clothes shopping, and would like to have an exclusive personal attention while you shop, I would recommend you to shop at Martin Margiela. Preparing for Christmas

November will soon be over, it's time to prepare for Christmas, the first thing to begin with the preparation is to put up the Christmas Trees, yes we have 2 Christmas Trees, 1 big and 1 small revolving Christmas Tree with lights.
Our girls are ever so excited to put the ornaments on the Christmas tree.

After attended our niece's abacus arithmetic competition at Suria Sabah this afternoon, we went into Metrojaya to have a look and feel the Christmas' atmosphere. They have put up a lot of very beautifully decorated Christmas trees at very departments and every aisles.

This red colour theme Christmas tree is our favourite.

Ornaments have been put up for sales, many type of colours to choose from for you to decorate according to your Christmas colour theme this year. Since we have many of our Christmas decorations which we have been keeping for many years, we did not buy any as we have already have enough.

Ladies, the sales are on at Metrojaya in KK, some items are up to 80% discounts. I desperately needed to change my handbag, after searching through the bundle of handbags, I managed to get myself a very reasonable price handbag, it is not Coach, definitely not LV for the moment..it is only a GF (Gio Fiore), at 70% discount. Can you guess how much it is???

Monogrammed Koozies

I came across a very interesting online shop selling wide varieties of gifts ranging from mom agenda planner, monogrammed key fobs and monogrammed koozies, and many more other interesting gift ideas to choose from. I stumbled upon this site while searching for a gift for my niece’s birthday. Knowing that she is fond of fabric stuff, I am very happy to find this wrap monogrammed koozies 100% made in U.S.A for $15.75 as a birthday gift for her, I am sure she will be very delighted to receive it.

It comes with a foam insulated koozies with stylish fabric shell. There are 39 different fabrics to choose from and the best thing is its personalised monogram embroidery, looks classic and style while sipping your favourite cold beverage wherever you go. The drinks will be kept cold for long as it is foam insulated. I chose the Large Pink Houndstooth pattern embroidered with a big letter R for my niece, which I find the pink is sweet and lovable by most girls. I also like the Baby Gate pattern which I am thinking of getting it for myself. Whoever knows me would know I am not quite an organised person, so a mom agenda planner would be a good organising tool for me to start getting organised!

Instant Soy Milk

We did some shopping the other day to replace our diminishing groceries supplies in the kitchen cupboard, I still can find some of them in the cupboard. Can you guess which is the most fast moving item? Yes, is the one below. It's gone within a few days. The Family Soy Plus is a new product to me and I was eager to try it out, the taste is pretty good. Is an ideal drink for tea breaks in the office and at home, it is not a bad idea to serve Soy Plus to the guests too.

Egg Molding

I got to know about this egg molding from Joyce's blog some times ago and wanted to get a set for the girls since. Just happened that we had our early lunch at the Four Seasons Steamboat Restaurant yesterday, I did not forget to drop by the so called Japanese grocery shop there just to look for this egg molding. It is RM5.99 for 2.
Right after taken her nap, Crystal reminded me to boil some eggs, what else, she wanted to see what magic can these molding can do to the eggs, I was eager too..quickly i boiled two eggs and let cool.
Still intact inside its plastic cover
all ready
the molding is just right for a small size egg
a little bear out from the moulding
and a little rabbit too..
The girls were so very happy to see what their eggs have turned out but the daddy and the mummy were the ones who ate the eggs. They did not eat them bacause they were all full just after dinner. Next time I will have to make sure to prepare the eggs before meals so that they get to eat the eggs too.

1/2 Price Dim Sum

After having our meehoon soup as breakfast this morning, we headed to the city centre to get few things done. Clet managed to take some photos of an apartment unit at Marina Resort Apartment which is to be auctioned this month and I supposed to go pay for my car instalment but the cheque deposit machine is out of order, what a lousy service this bank have knowing that the beginning of the month there would be plenty of customers who tend to use the machine for easy payment or depositing, the bank should ensure its one and only cheque deposit machine is up and running at all time, which bank? One of the bank in Api-Api Centre loh!

At about 10.30am, Crystal said she wanted to eat siu mai, this girl did not eat much meehoon soup in the morning that's why she felt hungry well before lunch time, since we are still around the city and the usual place that we had dim sum is quite a distance, in order not to waste petrol, we thought of take away siu mai for her at Four Seasons Steamboat Restaurant at Asia City. Clet went in to order the take away while we waited in the car. He headed back to the car no long after and told us that there is a 50% discount for eat in customer, and no discount for take way. That is not a bad deal, isn't it? So we decided to eat in. I thought all are 50% off but paying the bill than we realised it's only applicable to food not drinks, I would have ordered air suam only if I had known earlier. We ended up paying RM40.70 for our early dim sum lunch on Saturday.

Dim sum that we ordered

took a photo while eating half way through

Disappointed with this mushroom fritters, can't see any mushrooms hard as rock as well.

We had two sets of siu mai, the girls' favourite, that's what we ended here for..

I chose this for its vegetable, at least some vege rather than meaty all the way

One missing, it's with pearl already, she had 1.5 of this char siu pau

She hold the pau too tight that it felt off from her hand

This chicken feet is Crystal's favourite.
See, what I meant, bone only left. She had the whole serving by herself
We clean swept what we ordered on our table, no wastage.
After a meaty dim sum lunch, we walked around Asia City Complex and came to this miniture shop. All about movie characters. Be honest, I do not know most of them except superman, spiderman, and that's all.. all boy's stuff even Crystal feels the same.
second look, yes confirm, i only recognise Superman :-)
