Our Chef Wedding Reception

The wedding reception was at 6.30pm last Saturday. While waiting for the rest of my colleagues to arrive, I seated at the lobby area just in front of the big Chinese New Year flowers arrangement. I like it very much. I also noticed that there are a lot of Chinese tourists in this hotel, hope they enjoy their stay in Sabah.

This the flower display taken from where I was sitting.

This time I did not take the photos of the food served, only photos with my colleagues.  The groom is a head chef in one of our Company's resorts.  It is his turn to be served for his wedding reception in down town hotel, usually he is the one who head the resort's kitchen for the guests' wedding receptions.
Lovely newly wed couple, wishing them a happy and long lasting marriage.

Wedding Anniversary Dinner

This month this year, we are into 16 years of marriage, a lot of ups and downs, happiness and disappointments, arguments and forgiveness. We are blessed with 2 precious daughters with our Lord God in the centre of family, there is nothing else I could ask except for His continuous Blessings for Good health, lots of Love, happiness and safety for all of us in our family.

Celebration must have good food. With 2 additional voices and opinions, we came to a consensus to have our anniversary dinner at Grill'z Kitchen. This is one of the only few restaurants that served pork in their menus.

If you happen to be in KK, you could try Grill'z Kitchen at :

The engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton

Prince William, the heir to the heir to the throne has finally announced his engagement to Kate Middleton, his long time girlfriend at the State Rooms of the London's St.James's Palace on Tuesday, both are 28. Their wedding will be some time in Spring or Summer 2011.

Prince William gave his future bride the same 18-carat Sapphire diamond ring, which his father, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales had given to his mother, Diana, the Princess of Wales, for their engagement in 1981. It is an oval sapphire surrounded by 14 diamonds in a cluster setting chosen by Diana herself.

The country is delighted and wishing them every happiness.

This has brought back my memories on the engagement and marriage of Prince Charles and Diana in 1981. Only If the Princess of Wales were still around, the occasion would be much more merrier.

A wedding token

I received this wedding token my colleague, Rosalind, who got married in August this year. Besides having their wedding dinner reception here in KK, they had another dinner reception in Kuala Lumpur a week later for her mum is from West Malaysia and her dad is working there as well.

She brought back this token from KL for us. I like the design very much and had not seen one like this KK. It is a red hard cover ang pow pocket stuffed with sweet chocolate inside. I specially like its bright red colour and the smiling couple. I am still keeping this pretty ang pow on my desk as decoration.

At cousin's son wedding dinner

8 course meal is the basic for a wedding dinner. The price of each table is very much depends on the type of food that are included in the dishes. Dishes with shark fins, abalone, prawn will definitely more expensive.

At my cousin's son wedding, it is the first time that I have and tasted abalone in fried rice. My cousin, Mr & Mrs Yong Chee Loong's youngest son wedding was on 12 November 2009. Here's the snapshots of us at the wedding dinner and the delicious 8 course meal.

Cousin's wedding

Yesterday was a popular day to wed. My cousin picked the 8th August to wed as well. It was a church wedding followed by a nice and cozy cocktail and lunch party at the church hall, a simple and relaxing party with plenty of food. It was also an occasion for us to mingle around with cousins whom we have not seen quite a while.

Wedding - Stephen & Pauline

It was our nephew's wedding reception yesterday evening after the bride's last week. We had a buffet style dinner at the Wong Kwok Restaurant in Penampang, the food was plentiful and the evening was joyfully filled with songs while we were having dinner through till the end. Crystal and Pearl picked up the microphone presenting a song "Your are my sunshine" towards the end of the reception. Here are the photos of the evening:

Wedding - Stephen & Pauline

We attended the wedding of Stephen and Pauline at the bride's resident at Membakut on Saturday, 9th August 2008 and the photos tells it all.

While everybody was busy with the celebration, the children were having their own fun, running, jumping, balancing, dancing, just about everything they can think of. Crystal and Pearl were sweating all over but they sure had a lot of fun playing with their cousins , Jojo, Kathleen, Edson. I guess the feeling of them being let loose in the compound must have given them so much different from living in the city with all the restrictions and space limitation as compare to living in the countryside.

They were having so much fun that Crystal refused to go home and leaving the party with tearful eyes. The daddy gave her a bit of "lecturing" in the car and not long after that both of them fell fast asleep on the way home. They must be very very exhausted.
