Interior painting for our house

It has been 5 years now since we moved into our house, due to budget constraint, we only afford to do some refurbishment and painting before moving in, it was not a renovation but simply touched up on the falling ceiling and gave the dirty and peeling off walls some painting.

We have been wanting to give a new look to our house, needed a change of feng shui to enhance the good luck chi coming into our home.  At the moment, most of the interior walls are painted white except our bedrooms are pink.  It was my idea to have white walls during that time because my eye sights are poor, white tends to brighten up the house easier especially during the night.  The paint somehow faded over the years, It is time to repaint our house.

The first thing we ask ourselves is what color should we choose this time for a fresh new look.  There are four of us in the house, each one of us has different preference...blue, purple, beige, brown or combination of few colors ??   We ended up arguing, thus, the project is still on hold.  How I wish we could hire a professional painter like hingham painters to take care of the project, from initial planning, giving us the advise on the colors, the budget, time frame of completion, and guarantee of quality work done.  One thing I dislike about refurbishment is the cleaning up the mess after that.  We have to move the furniture and fittings to make way for the painting, the mobilization itself will tend to cause damage to our furniture, we have to take all these into account if we were to do the project ourselves, which we do not have the expertise to handle all these..the best solution would be to hire a professional painter to take care of this for us.

Online food ordering and home delivery service

After a long and tiring day at work, we are basically out of idea of what to serve for dinner each day.  I can only come out with only 1 -2 simple dishes in less than half and hour.  My kids have started to complain about the similar food that I serve them each time.  My cooking is always prepared in the shortest time possible just to fill up our hungry stomach and allow time for me to do the cleaning up after meals, and thereafter do the laundry, check on my girls homework and other house chaos within 2-3 hours time before rushing my girls to bed.

I told my friend that she is lucky to have her dinner readily served by their parents or house helper, and have time to put up their legs to enjoy a good series of drama after dinner.

Eating out could be an alternative but it is costly to dine out nowadays not to mention the queue.  I am very much prefer to enjoy a nice dinner at home.

Recently I came across a brilliant website which offer online food delivery service to homes, Foodpanda, orders can be made online or by phone for food to be delivered in and around Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Penang and many more areas.  I am very disappointed that their services have not extended to Kota Kinabalu.  We would definitely be their regular customers if their delivery service is available here.

After further check on their website here you could find more than 300 restaurants offering international cuisines, besides our local Malaysian food.  All can be conveniently ordered through online and delivered to your home or office.  This kind of food delivery service will help to cease the burden of working class mum a great deal.

Hardwood Flooring

We did not do anything to the floor of our house when we moved in about two years ago.  The previous owner rented out the house all the while before we bought it over from him.  Due to wear and tear and it was not well maintained, the house was not in very good condition.

With very low budget, we only managed to touch up a little, paint the walls, fixed any leakages and moved in to our new home to avoid paying rental to the landlord of our rented house.

This more than 20 years old house of ours, we called it our new home, needs a good face lift and refurbishment. If budget permits, we would like to do a renovation and also an extension to the kitchen.  The floor tiles are old and with stubborn marks here and there, we will replace it with the modern hardwood flooring.  I have seen many nice hardwood flooring patterns at Ephrata floor store.  If we were to replace our flooring, we will have to browse through the different brands and species of flooring available at Ephrata to decide which type suite our furniture best.

I would like to have the hardwood flooring at our living room as well as for our bedrooms and study room.   I am really looking forward to do some renovation to our house hopefully by this year.

Wholesale Cut Flowers

When I was in my home base florist business many year ago, I was having problem getting fresh cut flowers. As it is home base, I do not keep fresh flowers like most of the florist do.  My business is on made to order basis.  Since I am not a consistent buyer of bulk fresh flowers, the flower suppliers are not willing to supply me with the wholesale price, at times I am not able to even get the types of flowers as per my customers requests.  The flower suppliers always tell me that their flowers have been reserved for the florist shops.  Under such situation I get frustrated and my customers get even more disappointed for they are not able to get the type of flowers they have ordered from me.

The type of flowers and their colours represent specific meanings.  To many people if they are unable to get the right type of flowers, it would defect the meaning of sending flower bouquets to someone for that specific occasions.

I remember in many occasions I had to turne down many orders as I could not get the right flowers as ordered. Without doubt, my business has decreased and I had to finally call it a quit.

If I had known a reliable Wholesale Cut Flowers supplier whom can cater for my needs, I would still be in florist business till now.  If so happen one day I decide to go back to florist business, I would definitely order from them.  With the support of a reliable fresh cut flowers wholesaler, I will be able to provide better service and more varieties of flowers to fulfil my customers' specific needs.

It is a joyful feeling to receive fresh flower bouquet same goes to the one who send it.  The display of fresh cut flowers not just brighten up the room but also able to lift up one's mood for the day.  Order some fresh cut flowers to brighten up your days and send flower gift to lighten up your love one.

Seafood Display Cases

My brother is thinking of venturing into seafood business.  He came by a number of seafood suppliers whom are able to supply him with fresh seafood with good wholesale prices.

As he is a busy businessman in his transportation business he is not able to take care of the seafood business personally.  For this business expansion, he has to rely on the staff to run the business for him. As we all know, seafood is perishable especially in the warm climate like ours.  Fish can easily turn bad if they are not properly stored.  So he has to ensure that proper and suitable seafood displays are in place for the business to run smoothly without much headache to him.

Besides having proper storage, the display of the seafood is also very important to attract customers.  It has to be clean and be able to keep seafood fresh at all time, therefore having nice and suitable seafood display cases is not only necessary but is a must-have display counter in any seafood outlets.

He has been looking around to search for the display cases lately.  There are a number of seafood display cases that he is considering of buying, it is all depends on  what sort of concept he would like to have for his outlet.  We are also putting our minds together to help him with this business expansion.  Like the saying goes, the starting stage of any business venture is always the toughest.

a 10" fresh seafood merchandiser with air overflow refrigeration system & end merchandising wing

12" fresh seafood merchandiser with curved glass

The above two seafood displays would be suitable for most seafood outlets.  We like to buy fresh seafood same goes to our customers.  To have repeat customers, we will have to take extra affords to make sure our products are up to their satisfaction.

We are looking forward to have fresher seafood mechandises once our brother's seafood outlet is in operation.

Professional Office Moving Service

We are in the midst of setting up our office and shop.  Though it is a small rented shop, there are office furniture, cabinets, display settings, office equipments and so forth that we need to move in to get our office and shop in full operational mode in a short period of time.

We were having a hard time moving out from our previous office as we did not hire any moving service to help out, when we started packing we realised that moving is not as simple as we first thought.  After packing, transporting of all these big and small office stuff can be a big task, we thought that we could manage it on our own with the help of a few casual workers.  We were wrong.  There were so much to pack and carry even from a small office.  Hubby ended up has to help out on carrying the office tables and equipments which has strained his muscle, caused him so much pain as a result.

After having such an experience, we have decided to hire professional moving service like Ship-Smart to handle our office moves this time round. Ship-Smart provides very reasonable price in its moving office service, their services include custom packing and delivering to the desired destination. I particularly like their packing service as this will save a lot of our time in packing and leave us a peace of mind that our stuff are securely packed and transported.

December is my favourite month of the year.  There are so much to celebrate and to be merrier.  One of them of course is my birthday, which falls on the beginning of the December, kick starts of all celebrations..:D Which I have just celebrated in Manila during our recent vacation to the Philippines.

Next would be my mum's birthday, Christmas - the birth of Jesus Christ, and New Year's eve.  Many companies are having their staff annual dinners, and many organisations are also holding functions  to wrap up the whole year's activities and reward their staff for their hard work.

To hold a private event like staff annual dinner or corporate function, selection of a suitable place can be tough.  The choice of location, food and ambience have to be taken into account.  Furthermore, if you have not made a reservation earlier with the restaurant or hotel, you might not be able to get a place to hold your function at this time of the year.

If you are in Dallas tx, to look for a banquet halls in Dallas tx for private functions like birthdays, family gatherings, corporate events, you definitely should take a look at the menus and offers at Dallas Tex Mex Restaurants.  Based on their years' of experiences in offering private functions services, you could rest assure that they will be able to meet your demand.  They are able to cater for 20 to over 200 guests in any given functions.  They are surely a restaurant that you could count on.

Private Functions at Hoffbrau Steaks

We were having a bit of a hard time trying to decide where to hold Pearl's birthday party recently.  Initially we decided to have a dinner among ourselves, only the four of us in the family, and buy Pearl a birthday present of her choice, but she has grown another year older and wiser, she wants to invite her cousins and friends to her birthday party.  Without discussing with us, she took the liberty to invite her classmates to her birthday party.  I got to know about it when one of her classmates' mother came to ask me where is Pearl's birthday party going to be because Pearl has invited her daughter to the party.

We started to look for a suitable place in town to have the party, it was not easy.  We need a place where is suitable for kids and adults,  most importantly with a special menu for kids.  As we all know feeding the kids at the party can sometimes be a challenge to parents. The kids can just refuse to eat if the food are not suitable for them.

If we were in Texas area, we will definitely choose the Hoffbrau Steaks as our venue for the birthday party.   It is one of the restaurants in Dallas tx to have special room for private functions, they also have got kid's menu to top it all.  The price is very reasonable.  There are 6 types of set meals to choose from the kid's menu,  they are, Chicken Strips, Hoffbrau Mac N'Cheese, Grilled Cheese, Hamburger, Cheeseburger and Corn Dogs, all these meals are served with steak fries or steamed broccoli, and a beverage.   With so much choices, the kids would be happily place their order for the meals they want.

Shop at Martin Margiela

The typical way of shopping for clothing, shoes and accessories is to pop into the shops whenever we feel like especially when the outfits on the models on display have attracted our eyes.

Recently, buying from the online shopping malls has becoming popular, no doubts we can save time, away from the problem of traffic congestion, and enjoy shopping spree at the comfort of our home, I still find something amiss without the physical feel and touch of the products we are about to buy, more often than not, the quality of the products are not up to our expectation. Returning of the products and getting the money refunded would be a long process at times. Therefore, I still reckon that the most enjoyable way to shop is to patronize the boutique ourselves, to feel, touch and put the outfits on for a try. Buy when we are really satisfy with it.

If price is not an issue or you have a high budget for clothes shopping, and would like to have an exclusive personal attention while you shop, I would recommend you to shop at Martin Margiela. Mexican Cuisine at Mattitos

Most of the restaurants were crowded with people over the last weekend for the Father's Day celebration.  Many of you would agree with me that it was hard to find a cozy place to have a nice meal with our Father on this day because most of the restaurants have been fully booked well in advance and too crowded to have a comfortable meal..

I am the type of person who like to try varieties of food from the international cuisine.  We could easily cooked Chinese meals at home; Malay, Indonesian and Indian Food are in abundance here. There are many restaurants that serve Japanese, Korean, Thai, Philippines and Italian food in city. So far I have not come across any Mexican restaurant in town,  I have tried to google search but could not find any.  Some of the restaurants may serve bit and pieces of Mexican food but not the full-fledged and authentic Mexican cuisine.

If you are in Texas area and prefer to have a nice Mexican meal at a cosy restaurant, I would recommend you to try the Mattitos.  At Mattitos, they serve one of its kind Mexican cuisine with very reasonable price.  They have got 5 restaurant outlets in Texas alone, one of them is the Mexican Food Frisco.

At Mattitos, meals are served throughout the day till dinner. I particularly like the idea of them providing kid's menu come with a reduced price.  Buffet is served for Sundry Brunch, the award winning Sunday brunch that no one could resist to have a try.  It is only $16.99 for adult and $6.99 for children under the age of 12.  The price is reasonably cheap.

Besides eating in, they also offer outside catering for all types of events, and hold special banquet for private functions like wedding receptions, corporation events, birthday parties.  So if you want to have the feel of the Mexican tradition way of celebration, it has to be at Mattitos.

Lighting Fixtures

I always like the coziness of the hotels' room, of course I mean those with at least 3 stars hotels. I realise that it is because of the effect of the lighting fixtures, and the type of lights that the hotels choose to use in their rooms.

Some of the lights that they used are very simple not those fancy types but yet able to give their guests the welcoming and coziness effect. The lighting fixtures are just at the right place. Usually there is a lamp shade by the bed side, down lights at the door way, small lamp just right on top of the dressing mirror, and of course one in the wash room. I realise that they use dim lamps and bulbs to achieve the warm effect which we can also do the same for our home.

As I do not have bed side lamps yet, to have them would sure lift up the warm and coziness for my bedroom. As for my front porch, I would like to fix an antique outdoor wall light, that will give a total make over look from outside.

Manufactured Homes

Buying manufactured homes and park model homes from factory is something very rare in our country. Our houses are all built on sites. It is interesting to know that homes can be built in the factory and be delivered as per our requirements and needs in the United States. These homes are built in compliance with the building code set out by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and are also constructed to meet the standard guideline to its quality, durability, strength, transportability, and fire resistance.

At first I thought these manufactured homes are meant for temporary used, in actual fact the structure and design are very much for a long term residential used. Many factors that are required in a modern living like what they have today such as plumbing, electrical, air-conditioning & heating system are all being taken into consideration and can be in-built into the these homes. Extension can also be added to the existing construction of the homes as and when required in the future.

As the park model homes are all manufactured in the factory and deliver to the actual site for assembling, the noise and dust pollution in building homes can be eliminated at the actual building ground. I assume a lot of us would welcome the idea of having the homes built without having the noise, debris and dust around.

Everything that need in building a home can be picked and chose in the factory itself, it would be very interesting if we could find park model homes or manufactured homes factories in this part of the world.

Cheaper College Textbooks

My sister who attended her daughter’s university graduation in the United States last month, was telling me that it was a great financial relieve that her eldest daughter has finally graduated from university. Everyone knows that studying in overseas cost a great deal. The cost of accommodation, transportation, college books are getting more and more expensive each year. Luckily my brother in law has got a brother residing in the U.S whom my niece has been able to stay with his family for her entire university years.

My younger niece, Karen, who is 4 years younger than her sister is getting ready to enter into university next year, yet another heavy financial burden to carry. I told my sister that they can save a lot by buying used college textbooks, they are much cheaper and with varieties of subjects to choose from. The used text books are as good as new. They have got new textbooks for sale if they want to. Just log on to their website to find textbooks by subject, pick the suitable ones, pay for them and the textbooks will be sent to your door steps effortlessly, save the hassle of going around looking for the right textbooks.

I was amazed to see the huge lists of college text books that they have in store, basically from A-Z, how I wish there was such a service during my college years. Why spend extra if we can have the same college textbooks for cheaper prices, right?

Matryoshka Nesting Dolls

My girls just love to watch all the series in the Disney Channel, they can just glue to the television for as long as the Disney channel is on. One of their favourite series is the Higglytown Heros. Talking about Higglytown Heros, the characters are the Russian Matryoshka dolls or Nesting dolls. I always admire the Matryoshka doll, they are unique as compare to the other dolls, authentic doll is said to be made of Siberian wood, individually designed, hand-carved and hand painted by highly talented artists, the finished product is lacquered and polished to become a true master piece that last for generations.

The one uniqueness about the Matryoshka dolls is that they come in a set of a few identical dolls in different sizes, the smaller ones can be nestled into the bigger ones and become one!! Very unique!

I have not got a set of the doll yet but I am planning to get a set of these Matryoshka dolls of my choice in the near future as decorative collections for our new home. Oh wait! Since they will last for generations to come, I think I will have to get two sets of these dolls as collectors items so that my two girls will each have a set of the doll from me in the future, :D, they love dolls!!
