Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia (MSAM) 2012 at Kota Kinabalu,

It was not our plan to visit the Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia (MSAM) yesterday, it just happened that we went to our nephew's new house near Kingfisher Park, it was still early when we were headed back.  Our girls were not very pleased that we have to go home so early.  Since Likas Sport Complex where the MSAM is located is on our way, we thought why not have a look.  The place so jam packed that we nearly gave up the idea.  Clet has to drive around to look for a parking while we proceeded to the exhibition hall so as not to waste time.

There was a long queue at the registration area, I asked my girls whether they really want to go in, Crystal said "Mummy, don't give up so easily", I guess they just want to be out and about on Sunday. After registration, a passport is given to enter the exhibition hall.  We are supposed to get a stamp on the booklet from each and every exhibitors in order to redeem an umbrella, I was not aware of that because I did not take the time to read the requirement, my concentration was more on keeping my 2 girls close to me avoiding them from missing from the crowd.

While waiting for Clet to join us, I took photos of our girls with the latest Range Rover at the UMW booths,   a nice and expensive car, cost near RM400K.  After Clet has joined us, I managed to quickly queue at the Sime Darby Food's counter to get a stamp and a free gift.

A stamp chop from the Sime Darby counter and a free pack of Alif Ayam Masak Lemak Cili Padi (Spicy Yellow Chicken Curry) seasoning mix.  Don't know when I will be cooking this, because my 2 girls still do not take any curry dishes.

Before exiting from the exhibition hall, there was an investment game for the children, Crystal wanted to play  the game, she brought Pearl along to queue up, they got their chance to play operation surgeons to earn money.  The game aims to let children know the concept of earning, spending and investing.  At the end of the game, there is a redemption centre where children can redeem their presents, I think the presents given is depend on how much money the children have got at the end of the game. I find this kind of investment game is beneficial to children if there is a briefing given on the purpose of the game.

Here are the goodies that Crystal and Pearl got from the game.

Crystal brought this note pad to school this morning, telling me she treats this as an ipad....very imaginative!

Fast Cash

Jonathan, a colleague of mine has been late to work for many days now. He said his car has broken down while sending the children to school last Monday. Now, he has to get a public transport to work, from the area he lives, he has to get two buses in order to reach the place of work. He missed the connecting bus almost every morning, blame it to the inconsistency of the buses time schedules. He had a real bad luck lately, after experiencing a hit and run of his car bumper a week earlier, and his car broke down a week later. He is very down and out now as he has not got enough money to get the car fix. He has tried to apply for salary advances but was rejected by the company for reason being that he has taken once too many salary advances in the past months. One of my other colleague, Sean, found out the PayDay Loan while he was doing some research work on the net which he thinks would help Jonathan out from this situation. Without much hesitation, Jonathan sent in his application and got the approval without much problem since he meets the loan application’s requirements. He got the money credited to his bank account the next day and got his car repaired. “What a relief, I wouldn’t be able to do it without the PayDay Loan” he said.

Can't Wait Till Next Pay Day?

Have you heard of inflation going down? I have not heard of one before, probably I never aware of it. Prices on every single thing are on the rise. Most of us living with pay cheque to pay cheque are having difficulties in coping with the ever increasing prices on the day to day expenses, and struggling to pay for our mortgages, car loans, personal loans, children education, and other financial obligations. Savings is totally a dream. The likelihood of many of us will find ourselves short of cash well before pay day. What if the car suddenly broke down, emergency trips needed to settle important matters, a special offer that no one could resist, family in need of money and so forth, emergency cases like these just can't wait till then next pay day. Luckily there is a Cash Advance Loan available to save the day, it is a short term cash assistance for emergency needs, the application of the loan is very simple, your application could be pre-approved if you meet certain basic requirements and the money is deposited directly to your bank account. However, this type of loan is not suitable to resolve long term financial problems. It is a short term advances that is available to you, it provides a great help in time of need.

Tuesday Toot - Job Interview

My Toot for this week is about job interview. I have been off from work for more than a year now and I think it's time to get myself back into a steady income job; so I went for a job interview this morning and it seems very promising that I will be offered the position. They called me for a second interview this coming Thursday. The job does not required me to work on Saturday, that would allow me to spent time with my family for the full weekends. Will sure update you all on the outcome of my second interview in the coming post.

OFF BUDGET

Our expenditure will be running high this month due to unexpected car maintenance cost which was really not budgeted for. Our year’s old car air-con gave us a very irritating sound on Thursday morning and we were very worried about it. From that funny sound we knew very well that it was asking for money. We were hesitant to send the car in for repair, however, we couldn’t afford to have our car break down as this is our only car that we have for our business and family used. On that very afternoon, we sent our car in for checking and it turned out that repair was inevitable; the air-con was in the midst of broken down. It cost us RM537.00 to change the bearing, housing and coil for the air-con, that also include a set of auto lock motor for the driver side which was not functioning for quite some time, for safety reason we have no choice but to change the motor. The auto lock motor would normally about RM20.00 for other made of cars but it is particularly expensive for Waja which cost up to RM200.00 per motor; worst still no warranty available. That’s not about all; our car was heated up in the city the following day due to faulty auto fan motor, that’s again cost us another RM160.00 to change the parts. Altogether we spent RM700.00 on car maintenance in 2 days. We are really off budget for this month now and have to think of ways to cut other corners which is tough..sigh..
