My 600th Post - The reasons for me to continue blogging

I can't believe I have written 600 posts (including this post) on this humble blog of mine.

I started blogging about 5 years ago, on 18 December 2007 to be exact, here is my first blog post.  My first intention to blog was try to earn some extra income as I was told it can be done.   It was the time when I  have resigned from my job to try my luck on starting my own business.  Few months down the line, I did not earn much of an extra $ from blogging though I have put effort into building my blog.  At the same time my business did not do well and I decided to end it for good.  Not long later I decided to go back to work as an employee.

Business ended but I remain a consistent blogger till today.  And now, the main motivation for me to carry on blogging is for my 2 little daughters.  This blog is just like what it's mentioned on my blog's description, "meant to share my thoughts, findings, special interests and precious moments...." (of my life).  My girls are growing up each day. My eldest daughter, is an obedient reader of her mummy's blog.  She will check on my blog whenever she feels like and encourages me to update my blog if she notices I have been "lazy" blogging and would sometimes gives me ideas what to blog.  She loves to read my old posts too..to recap her memories.  I am sure Pearl will follow suit when she can read more words.  

Gaining friendships through the blogsphere is another reason keep me blogging.  Though I have never met any of my blogger friends personally (due to the distance, for the fact that I am in East Malaysia, most of you are in West Malaysia, Singapore, US, UK and other parts of the world) I treasure your friendships very much.  I always make a point to visit some of your blogs whenever I can, most of the times a silent visit without leaving a comment.

Here, I would like to thank Claire for giving me this gift that she brought back from her holiday to the US.    I am one of the winner of her Giveaway.  She posted it to me through post and recheck with me whether I have received it a few days later.  I was excited to receive it! 

The Macarons has arrived!!

I would like to say a big "thank you" to InspiredMom who recently organised a free giveaway contest at her blog. I am very overwhelmed to the fact that I was the winner in this contest. when I first saw the contest, I told myself that I want to have those Macarons and I followed through with what are the requirements to be a winner, and I did it!!!

I have won a pack of 12 pieces petit Macarons in assortment of six flavours, that is Cafe, Pistache, Framboise, Chocolate, Vanilla, Citron. I received it this afternoon, just a day it was sent by courier, it was securely packed, I received this box of Macarons without damaged. Perfect!!

I have heard and seen so much about Macarons in website advertisement, recipe and food websites, blogs and magazines, honestly speaking, I have never tried the Macarons before. For one they are consider luxurious treats and secondly, hardly find shops selling them in where I live.

Blogging can be rewarding. I earn some extra money through sponsored posts and most importantly I earn friendships through blogging.

Free Giveaway contest by Inspired Mom!!

I have been seeing many posts and pictures on the colourful macarons on the internet lately, they look yummy but haven't got the chance to have a taste of these melt in the mouth macarons. The are very pricey.

My 500th blog post - KFC & Pizza Hut discount Voucher

After about 4 years of blogging, this blog of mine has finally reached its 500th blog post today. In this blog post I am going to blog about the KFC discount vouchers we have been receiving for the past weeks.

We can claim for a KFC discount vouchers for every RM20.00 petrol refill at the Shell station, the promotion period is from 1st May - 15th June 2011, the validity date for these vouchers is by 31st July 2011, and it is only valid for KFC outlets in Kota Kinabalu & Labuan (exclude KFC outlets at the Kota Kinabalu International Airports (KKIA), both terminals. I believe many of us who have been patronising Shell stations here are receiving many copies of these vouchers.

For every RM20.00 refill of petrol, we are are given a RM2.70 discount voucher on KFC Meal 1 (2 pcs Chicken, 1 Regular soft drink, 1 regular whipped potato) and a discount voucher of RM4.70 for a Meal 1 at Pizza Hut which consists of 1 personal Pan Pizza and 1 Tropicana Twister Orange.

For every RM40.00 spent on petrol, the discount vouchers are a saving of RM6.40 on KFC Meal 2, consists of 5 pcs chicken, 1 regular whipped potato, 1 regular potato wedges and 3 buns as well as a saving of RM6.90 on Pizza Hut Meal 2 for 1 Regular Pan Pizza and 2 Tropicana Twister Orange.

These discount vouchers are pretty attractive, KFC and Pizza Hut are on the top lists of my family favourite fast food restuarants. I have collected 7 sets of these discounts vouchers and I don't think we can utilise all of them by 31st July 2011. The expiry date is too soon and too near, they should have given us more time to utilise these vouchers, I suppose they expect us to consume KFC and Pizza Hut's meals every other day, definitely it is not going to happen for the sake of our health and the health of our pockets. :D *.*

Book on Blogging by Million, Earn by Millions

This is a new book I bought from Popular Book store last weekend, flipping through the pages at the book store, I found several topics in this book are very useful and informative for bloggers and to whom intend to start business on line.

This book provides its readers easy to understand guides and links to many useful websites on how to go about becoming internet entrepreneur through e-commerce and blogging. The information are very helpful to people whom do not know much about internet marketing like me :D...It is also a good book for me to refer to should I decide to start an online business in the future. read more about this book here .

Blogging Course for Beginners

I am very hopeful that after this course I will be more well verse in monetizing my blogs and earn from blogging, very exciting, this is what I have been waiting for.

Blogger Course

Though I have been blogging for about 3 years now, I still find a lot to learn from blogging, especially on putting meta tags to my blog to drive more traffic, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and most importantly the methods on how to monetize my blogs.

For these reasons, I have made a point to attend a course on Blogging Course for Absolute Beginners conducted by Gomes Promotion at Likas Square, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

I am here to post this post as a practice for beginner, :D

This course is conducted in two parts, Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.

PayPal withdrawal available for Malaysians

I am not just off from blogging for many weeks due to heavy workloads, both at work and at home , I am also haven't got the chance to check on my PayPal account for a while. Today, I logged on to my PayPal account with the intention to find out how to withdraw some funds to my credit card which I have accumulated since I started blogging.

I am pleased to find out the we, in Malaysia are allowed to withdraw funds to the local Malaysian banks now, this is what many of us have been waiting for.

There will be no charges if withdrawal is more than RM400.00, otherwise, we will be charged RM3.00 for the transaction. It will only take 2-3 working days to receive the funds into our bank account. Withdrawal to a credit card will take 5-7 days, with a charge of RM20.00.

Blog Hijacked

My blog has been "hijacked" by some kind of spammer out there a couple of weeks ago. It will be redirected to another website whenever I try to view it. I have been trying to get it back but to no avail. The only way to view it is to change my blog to custom setting. Would be grateful if any one can give me assistance on how to get rid of the redirection??? PLEASE HELP....

New Blogger

I am very delighted to have my childhood best friend, Susan, to join in the blogsphere recently, a big welcome my dear friend, she named her blog as Find Us In New York. Yes they are now residing in the US which I hope we get to visit her and her hubby, Richard, in the near future.

I only got to know this when I opened my email today, she has sent me an email on 12 July 2008 searching high & low for me as she couldn't get through my blog eversince I changed my blog address. I did not know she have been my blog frequent viewer and after reading mine she was inspired to start one of her own too, I am so touched with that I can't help but to blog about this :)

By visiting her blog, I feel as if we are very much closer to each other again though she is at the other side of the earth.

OLD TOWN WHITE COFFEE

It's pouring saturday afternoon, perfect time to take an afternoon nap. Since I am not used to having afternoon nap, I sit in front of the computer surfing and blogging away though I am a bit tired. I was woken up by Crystal at 3.00am as she was having nosebleed again, she was scared to see blood coming out from her nose for the third time.. so I have to be there to comfort her and gave her reassurance that it would be okay, and put her back to sleep again. It was a stressful night that I was unable to sleep after that; I got out to the market with Pearl at 6.00am to buy some ingredient to make soup for Crystal which my mum said is good to stop nosebleed. Hope it will help. While checking on the web for the cause of nosebleed, I found this piece of information useful, please check it out for the causes and treatments for nosebleed in children.

While I was busy on the net, Clet suggested why don't we have a cup of Old Town White Coffee and "ham jin piang" (a popular local cake) for afternoon tea, hey! why not, afterall he is making it for me so that I can stay awake and continue with my blogging. The 2 in 1 Old Town White Coffee is quite thick which is good enough to make me stay awake for the afternoon probably till night.

I SIGNED UP FOR PPP

I signed up for PayPerPost on 6 May 2008 and they approved my blog almost immediately. It only took an hour for them to email back to me on the outcome. It is very efficient on their part I must say which had really made my day. I was very eager to register with PPP since I started with my blog in December 2007 aiming to earn some extra income. I quickly register with them as soon as I meet their requirements and to my surprise that I got approved so quickly. Yeah!! It's a wonderful thing that I am able to get paid to blog from now on. :D

I got to know about PPP through Joyce, a very committed blogger and wife of hubby’s nephew, from there I did my own web search to PPP website and it was amazing how bloggers can earn money just by writing or reviewing advertisers’ products, services or websites, I believe I can do that and want to be part of them too...

When I first logged in to PPP’s member site as a new Postie, I realised there are so much to learn which is very exciting. Though I am still a new Postie, I really can’t wait to take up some opportunities and start earning extra $$ to pay for my credit card which has long been overdue and of course do some on line shopping which I have never done before. BLOGGING & BLOGS HOPING SATURDAY

Today is all about blogs hoping, cooking, and eating. I stayed at home with my girls the whole day as Clet had been out since 9am to take some photos for the forthcoming grand properties public auction sales tentatively set on 26th April 2008 was only back around 6pm. The girls miss him terribly.

What did I cook today? Since I am prepared to stay at home whole day long, I have to make sure there are sufficient food for the girls. In the morning, I fried garlic rice with butter, my girls like it very much. To make sure there is food for lunch, I cooked porridge with lean pork and liver in the National rice cooker by using the porridge mode, it is so convenient that the next moment I open up the cover, porridge is all ready to be served. In between meals my girls had swiss rolls, bread, jelly, their favourite vitagen and of course 2 bottles each of Dumex formula. We had mee udang fried with garlic for dinner. The meals for today are all easy to prepare, allowing me to have time to do some blogs hoping which is a good chance to get to know other bloggers.
