Adoption of Home Pet

Whenever there are dogs and cats come by, my better half will give them food.  Since these cats and dogs knows there are food, they will come regularly and sooner or later they will call it home.

Since we have our own pet dogs inside our home compound, other dogs will not come around to wait for food.  Some 2 months ago, a pregnant mother cat came to our backyard and my better half started to feed her, when she nearly due to gave birth she migrated to our front yard and gave birth to 3 little kittens.
Mother cat and her baby kittens, photo taken on 1/12/17.  One of the kitten which was the most active one has gone and never come back.  My neighbour has told us that he found a cat died at the back of his house after he came back from his vacation in the early of this year, could have been this little kitten.  Now only left 2 hanging around, they have become so homely that they started to come inside the house and sleep comfortably on my better half working chair.

photo taken yesterday, they have grown up quite a bit.  I like cats but I hate so much if they do their business inside the house.  So far they are pretty discipline.  The rats will stay away with cats meow around.  Cats are cute regardless of the breed.

I am licenced now

Status upgraded. We have awarded our obedient dog with the licence he deserved in his year, the Dog year.  Skittles, a name given to him by our daughters, with no complaint of wearing additional weight and metal knocking sound on his neck, unlike some of the dogs, they will try every means and strength to remove the necklace.
He is happy and we are relieved that the authority will not capture him when he is out and about in our neighbourhood.  Skittles is a very homely dog, who does not like to hang out much, he will make noise to ask us to open the gate for him if we happen to lock him out.
We just need to give him a mutual "come back" signal, he will run as fast as he could to be back into the house compound before the gate is closed.
He has got a sister "Jumper" who likes to jump, there goes her name.  We keep her at the back to guard the backyard.  Both of them are short and intelligent though they do not belong to the premium breeds.  He is always the first one to greet me when I come home from work, he must have recognised my car engine sound already.

Additional members in 2016

Two weeks ago, we supposed to find tyres for our car in Inanam.  The tyres shop have not started their business before 8am..After having our favourite white tom yam fish meehoon soup for breakfast, we adjourned to the tamu.

this white tom yam meehoon soup is very delicious, I always ask for less chillie, RM10.00 per bowl.

We found these two cuties at the tamu.  They are sister and brother.  5 siblings altogether according to the lady owner.  The brown one is the eldest and the white one is the 2nd.  The lady owner letting them go to us at a giveaway price.  She trusts we will take care of them.
My better half took both of them home so that they have companion, can't bear to hear them cry if they are alone at night. Though they are siblings, one is shorter than the other because the mother dog is of a shorter breed.
They are very active, we have to keep them in the cage to avoid them from slipping out from the gate where there are cars and other bigger dogs, they might get lost as well and can't find their way home.  Our daughters have given them very complicated names, the brown is Flipper, the white is Whistle...:D.  Now we have dogs at the backyard and front porch, means more mouth to feed..haaaaa...

Our backyard resident

Our dog, Lucky, has been our backyard resident for the past 3 years.  Once in a while we will let him go to the front porch, he barks at every single dog at his sight, and starts barking at things that are not familiar to him.  Very alert yet annoyingly noisy to the neighbours.  He will free himself out from the gate whenever he gets the chance, then he will have no mercy looking for a fight with other dogs or rather other dogs want to fight with him, hurting himself for no reason, it is hard to stop the dogs when they are fighting.  For these reasons, it is best for him to be the guard dog at the backyard.

Recently we cemented part of our backyard, probably he still has not used to the new flooring, he chose to sit in the flower pot like this, almost killing the poor plants in the pot if we hadn't moved the flower pot away.   We have found a girlfriend for him, hopefully they will not fight when they meet each other.  haaaaa....:DD

Weekend Tamu at Giant Hypermarket Kolombong

last Saturday was a school off day for our girls, reluctantly they tagged along to the tamu (open market place) on their daddy request.  After breakfast, we finally arrived at the tamu, finding parking it's always a problem at any tamu market places, one of the option is to double park and be alert to make way for the cars that we blocked at any time.

the ones that caught our girls' attentions are the cats and puppies.  We bought our dog named Lucky at this tamu many year ago.
Live crabs for sell.

there are frogs too..big and masculine ones
dried fish
orchids and plants
dessert rose roots, the colours and types are shown on the stickers.  We bought 3 types of colours at RM25.00 each
the well grown dessert roses priced at RM180.00 per pot
Soursop fruits are hard to find.  I bought 2 at RM8.00 per kg here.  I was told that regular consumption of soursop could cure many diseases.
My better half came for this.  Fertilised black soil for our plants.   RM2.00 per pack.

Her name is Golden

We are very irritated by the noice made by the rats when they start running around on top of our roof. Our neighbours have caught number of rats and our dog, Lucky has also been chasing after the rats when they are within his sight.  I ever told Clet that we probably need a cat to scare those rats away.

After many weeks till yesterday, Clet brought back a little female kitten that he found in school.  Crystal told me that they put her in a box and brought it home after school to surprise me.  I didn't expect him to take my word for real.

I have a bit of resentment to see this kitten at first. Having additional pet means we will have to care for it which I don't have the extra time to do so.  First of all, we will have to toilet train this little kitten.

Golden is such a cute kitten, small but fierce. Our girls named her "Golden" because of its golden looking hair. She didn't want to eat the Whiskas Junior cat food nor the milk that we fed her last night. Occasionally I could hear it miao miao last night.  It must be hard for Golden to attempt to its new environment.

Hope Golden will do a good job to chase away all the rats. Most importantly do not poo and pee inside the house.

Admiring the little Golden
Trying to let her drinking milk
"Golden" is just an ordinary breed cat, the first cat that we rear.

New Home for our Hamster

Actually this cage was bought more than a month ago, I just haven't got the chance to post it here. We supposed to have a pair of hamster, the female one has escaped (set herself free) and never returned, leaving the male one all alone.

It's growing day by day, the small baby hamster cage no longer provide a comfortable space for him to walk, limited space has deterred his movement. 1 day, when feeding him, I noticed that it is limping, one of his leg has turned black. I quickly moved him to a bigger storage container and left him there for a day or two to observe. With more space to move around, his leg has thus recovered. We have no choice but to look for a bigger cage to house him so that he can grow healthily.

We checked a number of pet shops around town in order to get a nice cage with reasonable price. With few choices to choose within our budget at one of the Pet Shop at Bornion Centre, we finally decided to buy a big pink cage.

Pick and choose which one is more suitable

In the same shop, we saw a very cute and well behaved Poodle, he just sits and walks around the table with no fuss.

There the owner of the shop also showed us the new pet in town, an animal size slightly bigger than the hamster, look like squirrel but slow in movement, forgot what's the name of this animal. But it's not the kind of pet for us.

Just to show the baby cage that house the hamster before and the new big pink cage.

Our Life with 2 hamsters

After much pestering by our girls to have pets in our home, we bought a pair of hamsters from the Giant Hypermarket's tamu where we supposed to check out some flowers & plants some 3 weeks ago. Among other stuff, there are puppies, cats, rabbits and hamsters for sale at the ground floor car park.

Crystal chose a black female hamster while Pearl preferred a white one without knowing it is a male hamster ("Ha..mine is a male!!!" she shouted :DDD), we brought home a pair of hamster with a little box and a pack of their food but without a hamster cage, thinking that our girls might just lose interest in them in a few days and decided to give them away so no point buying a hamster cage where we can borrow a bigger cat cage from our nephew.

The next 2 days, we were like cat and mouse with the hamsters. They kept sneaking out from the cage, to deter them from letting loose at night, we transferred them to a paper box without knowing how sneaky they are. They were gone the next day by making a hole at the bottom of the box. On that Sunday morning, we searched the whole ground floor of our house but to no avail'; just at the point of about to give up searching, Clet saw a sneaky nose under the TV cupboard, that's Crystal's black hamster, we also found Pearl's white hamster soon after that.

To have a peace of mind, we have no choice but to buy the cage for them. We bought a small yellow cage at first, later we were told that they multiply very fast. Scare of having too much trouble to take care of additional hamsters if they do multiply, we decided to separate them into 2 cages.

With the intention of buying a cheaper hamster cage, I browsed through Mudah.com and found a cute little purple cage just right for Pearl's hamster. I called the owner, he sent over the cage and we bought it off from him for RM12.00 the night itself.

So far, Crystal has been very consistent in feeding them, Pearl has seen to be lost interest in them, she only have a look at them when she walks pass or whenever her che che calls her to look at the funny acts of the hamsters, both of them will have a good laugh.

Here are our sneaky hamsters:

These hamsters are so active that they always kicked those wood pieces out from their cages, we have to put the cages into a big plastic container so that the wood pieces will not dirty the floor.

Pet Care for Pet Lovers

I visited my friend, Jessica, for afternoon tea at her home last weekend. I was amazed to see the number of dogs, cats and birds she is having at her home now. I still remembered her 2 dogs were locked in the cage and treated with flea problem last year, and now they have total free from fleas with very healthy looking hair. She has got 5 dogs, 2 puppies, 3 cats and a dozen of birds under her care now, they all look very healthy and clean.

I was very curious on how she manage to take care of so many pets with all of them look so health, happy and clean. She proudly shared her secret with me saying that she came across a website which tells her all about the know-how on dog care and cat care. It has since provided her with the knowledge she has been looking for on how to care for her pets. The result is remarkable.

At the same time she learnt about the essential tactics on bird care. That’s how she discovered her passion for birds too. She started with a pair of love birds and she was very excited to see that the numbers has multiplied in just a few months. A comprehensive pet care guide is all you need to keep the pets happy and the owner happy too, she said. She is so very proud of her pets indeed and planning to bring them for this coming dogs and cats competition.
