The weather is still very warm and humid despite occasion rain.  I spend most of my time in the office during week days where I could enjoy the cool breeze in the air conditioned room,  I could feel the heat as soon as I step out from the office at the end of the days' work.

Lighting Fixtures

I always like the coziness of the hotels' room, of course I mean those with at least 3 stars hotels. I realise that it is because of the effect of the lighting fixtures, and the type of lights that the hotels choose to use in their rooms.

Some of the lights that they used are very simple not those fancy types but yet able to give their guests the welcoming and coziness effect. The lighting fixtures are just at the right place. Usually there is a lamp shade by the bed side, down lights at the door way, small lamp just right on top of the dressing mirror, and of course one in the wash room. I realise that they use dim lamps and bulbs to achieve the warm effect which we can also do the same for our home.

As I do not have bed side lamps yet, to have them would sure lift up the warm and coziness for my bedroom. As for my front porch, I would like to fix an antique outdoor wall light, that will give a total make over look from outside.

Home Lighting

We have moved in to our new home for about 2 months now, we are still unpacking our stuff which have been placed in the store room and other corners of our house. Those are the stuff which are not urgently needed so we could take our sweet time to take them out from the boxes.

Most of the room lighting installation are in place now that we could noticed we need some floor lamps to brighten up certain corner of the house. A lamp light will make a room looks cozy, make us more relax and at ease after a hard day work. Unlike table lamp, a floor lamp does not need a table, it can just stand on its own wherever we want it to be, it is highly portable.

I would prefer to have a Victorian style table lamp on the bed side tables and desk lamps with suitable lighting would be best for our girls' study tables. These are the lamps in our wish lists since we do not have any of them at the moment.

There are many designs and some are very stylish, whichever we choose they will have to match our existing home furniture.

Water Filters

Everyone knows that the water supply straight from the tap nowadays consist of many carcinogenic agents which are no visible to our own eyes. Therefore, it is an essential for every household to have at least one unit of water filter. There are many types of water filtering systems in the market today to cater for different needs. I have been wanting to get a new unit of water filter for our new home to replace the old unit which I find it is highly insufficient for our needs now. Basically what we need is a water filter system that could provide us with a clean safe water for drinking, cooking, and for showering. I would prefer the type of water filters that can get rid of pesticides, flouride, bacteria, lead and other dangerous contaminants present in the water but without removing the essential minerals like potassium and magnesium, as long term consumption of de-mineralized water is known to be detrimental to our health. In order to have clean safe water for our consumption, it would be best to install an under sink water filter in the kitchen. It does a good job without anyone seeing it because it is install under the sink! Factors that we are considering when buying a new set of water filter are the pricing, quality as to whether it has been certificated by the authority and also the maintenance of the filtering system. It is advisable to read the specifications or features before buying in order to get the right water filter for our needs.
