Cancer Warning on Talcum Powder
This was published in the Utusan Konsumer Mar -Apr 2009 edition. In fact I have heard about the danger of using talcum powder many years ago but never bother to really find out why it is so. Believing in what I have read today, I decided to throw away every single bottle of the talcum powder from my house.

Soy Milk Maker
I always wanted to buy a soy milk maker to made fresh soy milk for our family to enjoy. My gals love soy milk. We will definitely order at least a can/bottle of soy milk for them knowing perfectly that it is the drink they want whenever we go out for a drink. A lot of times I was thinking of making some soy milk using the traditional method but keep procastinating when think of the trouble and time needed, it would be a different story if I have got the time for it. Nowadays we all talk about simplicity (in less trouble sense) in every thing we do with the availabilities of kitchen electrical & electronic appliances. And the next best thing is having to make soymilk is a step closing to making tofu which is quite simple as show in the Basic tofu recipe. The soy milk maker can also make other beans beverages like almond, red beans , etc. Soy milk maker is definitely one of my wish list for my kitchen. Can't wait to have one now.

Frozen Pau and Siu Mai
Siu Mai is one of our gals' favourite food. They would ask for siu mai whenever they feel like having some. We always have the problem of getting siu mai at night in KK. We have found two shops in KK selling it at night but they are very inconsistent, sometimes they have and at times they do not have any. Our gals get disappointed all the time.
Whilst shopping at CKS hypermarket that day, Clet is pleased to find there are frozen char siu pau and siu mai in the frozen food department, he bought some to try the quality, normally the frozen ones are less tasty as compared to those served right in the restaurant.
We had these frozen siu mai and pau for breakfast that very Saturday and the qualities are to our satisfaction. We definitely going to get some more when we shop there next. Having the frozen one would save our time to drive here and there to find siu mai at night for the gals. The serving time is less than 10 minutes from freezer to table, very convenient. We also like to have them as snack for afternoon tea which we are going to have some now. :Q

Last Borneo Paradise (LABOPA)
We came to know about Utan Paradise Jungle Lodge, Kimanis, Sabah through our nephew, Clement. It provides one of its kind homestyle concept at the Crocker Range of Sabah. There you will experience true Borneo rainforest environment. Monkeys, orang utan, hornbills and countless of Borneo flora can be seen here. It would be a perfect place for a hide away from the busy and stressful city as well as being near to the nature to freshen up our mind and soul. You can catch up more information at LABOPA, Kinabalu, kinolosodonhomestay

Instant Soy Milk
We did some shopping the other day to replace our diminishing groceries supplies in the kitchen cupboard, I still can find some of them in the cupboard. Can you guess which is the most fast moving item? Yes, is the one below. It's gone within a few days. The Family Soy Plus is a new product to me and I was eager to try it out, the taste is pretty good. Is an ideal drink for tea breaks in the office and at home, it is not a bad idea to serve Soy Plus to the guests too.

Shalom Valley is a private property owned by my boss. There find a lot of floral, fruit trees, poultry, fish ponds, natural flow of stream. While waiting for our transport at the pick up point to the Kasih Sayang Health Resort & Spa that day, I was captured by some beautiful flowers, these are the 2 of them.

Pandan Leaf
My mum gave me a bundle of pandan leaves last saturday just before she went for her mahjong session. She asked me to boil them to make some juice. The pandan leaves juice is believed to have anti-diabetic properties. The leaf come from screwpine tree, it is widely used in our local delicatessen as well as in Thailand. It is also said to be able chase away crocoaches by having some pandan leaves around the house.

Negative Ion products
People have been talking about negative ion but never did I pay any attention to what health benefits it could bring. Due to its many health benefits, more and more manufacturers have incorporated this feature into their products. Few of the many products that I know of having negative ion are air conditioner, sanitary napkin, definitely air ionizer, and undergarments for health purposes… The 8 keys benefits that I found from my recent research on negative ion/minus ion are:
1. Eliminate bacteria2. Eradicate odour
3. Enhance hormonal balance
4. Treat inflammation
5. Remove Fatique
6. Strengthen immunity
7. Improve metabolism
8. Reduce stress
Some might have doubt whether there is any negative ion exist in the products as claimed by the manufacturers, I am one of them too. To ensure the genuineness of the products, it is advisable to ask for prove and method of testing to see the existence and density of negative ion as claimed rather than just rely on what it is stated on the label or packing. We have once too many fake stuff around. Don’t you agree?
