Valentine's Day 2017

Just an update on my Valentine's Day activities. Busy at work as usual. My better half knows me well that I no longer needed a teddy bear because he is my teddy bear, no flowers because they are overpriced, but cash are welcome, no chocolate, because the last I would choose is the chocolate among all the sweet candies. I enjoy most are the food. So the highlight of the day is food though nothing to shout about because it's just ordinary. The most important is the sense of Love and being Loved as we get together as a family.
Famous Nasi Kuning (Yellow Fragrance Rice) with fish
Valentine's Day morning breakfast..sweet and spicy combination. As usual, both of us shared a glass of sweet kopi Kahwin like we always do.
At night, I put on my heart shape glittering earrings for a date with my better half and daughters.  We went for a Japanese Meal.  We arrived just in time to get a table for 4.  By the time we finished our meal, there were several couples and families waiting to be seated.  This Japanese restaurant was full house.

Bento sets and salmon slices
duck rice and last piece of jelly.
We left not long after we finished our meal to make way for others to sit.  That's about our Valentine's Day 2017. How's yours ?

  1. No celebration for us this V Day. Hubs and I just had breakfast at the coffee shop :D Like you said, prices of everything and everywhere have gone up just because of 14 Feb. We will celebrate on 16 Feb though - a 2in1 celebration of V Day and b'day of our no. 2 :)

  3. I agreed with you. Same thinking as you. No longer need those bears or flowers. It is the heart that matter.

  4. What a practical way to celebrate with your teddy bear and family together for a nice meal. I find that most meaningful.

We ate roti chanai last night for Valentine's Dinner. We know that all this Valentine promos are very commercialized to lure couples and families to splurge for this occasion. To us, everyday is just like Valentine's and should stay loving & respectful to each other always. Perhaps, I could say that we celebrated our CNY and Valentine's in Japan. Anyways, I am still mourning for both my parents and that would last for 3 years.

    1. It is right to stay low for celebrations to show respect to the passing elderly..Everyday is a celebration for we are still alive and kicking..:DDD

  5. I agree, Agnes - ' the most important is the sense of being loved'. Looks like you had an amazing day.

My husband got me a pair of beautiful orchids for Valentine's which I chose myself from a local nursery. Lasts as long as I don't kill the plant! Cheap too. I made him a simple meal. :)
