Bubble C Orange Drink

Bubble C, its name sounds like some kind of a drink for the kids, it is actually a Vitamin C & Calcium drink from Edmark for young and old.  My friend is a member, I am her occasional customer buying Red Yeast Coffee of Edmark's brand, red yeast is said to be able to lower the bad cholesterol, healthy coffee why not.  Few weeks ago, while ordering the red yeast coffee at the same time I ordered this Bubble C orange vitamin C & Calcium drinks meant for my girls, after trying a sachet, I like its fizzy and refreshing taste.  I hardly take cold drinks but for this I like it to be served cold.

Bubble C is suitable for young and old..it is sweetened by natural fructose so it is safe for those with diabetes.

There are 20 sachets in a box, every sachet is equivalent to 3 oranges, I personally do not get the sufficient amount of vitamin C and Calcium from my daily food intakes, this will at least be a supplement for me. 

Like any other sachet drinks, just add lukewarm or cold water, stir till dissolve 

and enjoy a mug of Vitamin C and Calcium goodness!!

Stingless Bee Natural Honey

After reading the health benefits of the stingless bees honey (Madu Kelulut), I told my better half that I want to buy a bottle for my father and mum to try,  he has to whatsapp the farm owner on Saturday night to check whether they are opened for business on Sunday.  I am very happy that his reply is Yes.  My father is a stroke patient since 12 years ago and has been having lungs infections very frequently.

I am glad that my mum tagged along to see the stingless bee farm. The owner is so kind to let us try the honey and patiently explained to us on the goodness of this honey.  

I bought a bottle of 530gm honey to share with my parents.  This is the packaging and a natural product produced by the hard working stingless bees that can only fly the furthest 3km from their nests / hives.

I also bought a small bottle of ginger powder, produced locally as well.  It can be mixed with the honey drink,  Ginger possesses anti cancer properties.  

besides the Air Mata Pengantin flower (picture in my last post), I also sighted this type of flower in the Stingless Bee farm, anyone know what's the name of this flower ?  

The Super Bitter Premium Tea - Peria Katak

There is no reason why we would want to choose a bitter drink over the sweet one right?  Unless it's for health purpose. This is exactly the reason why we are willing to try this super bitter drink made from Peria Katak (Bitter Melon).  Peria Katak is much more bitter than the normal bitter gourd.   

 This box consists of 25 sachets of bitter melon tea bags

 Translation :  "Blended from fresh and quality bitter melon from the farm into an aromatic drink suitable for the whole family.  According to scientific studies, bitter melon acts as natural insulin because they contain active ingredients that can effectively lowering sugar level."

 A mug of super bitter Peria Katak drink.  Believe me, it is super duper bitter.  Hopefully it is helpful for diabetic patients.

The look of the Peria Katak are more like a mice than a frog (Katak) to me..What do you think ??

Pomegranate Juice and Coffee

I have not heard of Pomegranate (buah Delima) when I was young.  Only in the recent years that people started to promote the health benefits of many super fruits/food, one of them is Pomegranate, mostly sold through direct selling /Multi Level Marketing.  The prices are relatively higher.

I happened to see this product displayed at the counter where I have my roti jala.  Upon asking, the price is reasonable and affordable to me, I bought a bottle to try.  If I am not mistaken, it was only around RM20.00 (USD5.00).  As I did not take it consistently everyday, this small bottle lasted for a few months in my refrigerator.  I can not comment of the effectiveness of this product because I hadn't consumed it as prescribed to see the result.  The taste is on the sourly sweet side.  

Another Pomegranate product that I have tried was this coffee mix from a small retail shop selling all kinds of health products, skin care and cosmetics in Complex Karamunsing.  It says to have Pomegranate extract, I only bought 1 packet to try because I was not sure whether the mix of coffee and Pomegranate will blend well or not for my liking. 

After drinking it, I find the taste is alright for me but I have not gone back to that shop lately.  We bought some tea bags for diabetes from the same shop too.  Will share in another post to come. 

Edmark products - Coffee Tea Splina

We are blessed with a thoughtful friend who gave us these lots coffee and tea.  She is a distributor of Edmark products whom has been in business for 4 years now and she finds the products are beneficial to her and to many.

she gave us a whole pack of Red Yeast Coffee and Red Bubble Tea with Red Yeast Rice each.  Red Yeast is good to lower bad cholesterol and she still remembers I have told her many years ago that my cholesterol level is on the high side.

she also gave us a few sachets of Coffee with Lingzhi too.

and my better half bought this bottle of Splina to try.  He has been preparing this green drink for us and place a big bottle of it in the freeze, members in my family like their beverage icy cold especially with the hot weather these days.

Juicing for good health

My better half has been wanting to try this juice ever since he read about the benefit of this juice a year ago, it is said to be good to unclog the arteries..it is hard to tell the conditions of our arteries in our body after all these years..we made a point to try this juice yesterday.  The ingredients are easy to find, I got them all in the supermarket on my way home.

We read about the benefit a year ago and did not keep any written information, therefore, there is no exact measurements of each ingredients we can follow, we take the liberty to estimate how much of each ingredient we need so long as all the main ingredients are in.

What we need are : Garlic, Ginger, Lemon, Honey and Apple Cider Vinegar (we opted out ACV).

The unclogging arteries "yellow juice" is ready to be boiled.

Add in honey after it is cooled.  Keep refrigerated.  Enjoy this healthy juice 1 - 2 table spoons each day.  I have ready a youtube videos here for you to check out how it is done.  Hope this juice will provide us with much needed health benefits.

GreenMax Purple Yam & Black Soybean Powder

Have you heard of drinking or consuming black soybean will gradually turn gray hair to black again (if you are born with black brown hair :D).  How I wish it is true to reverse my increasing gray hair.

There are several types of Greenmax products selling in the local hypermarkets here, we chose to buy a  packet consist of 14 sachets of the purple yam & black soybean powder cereal drinks obviously it's because of the Black Soybean Powder content. 

 

The instructions are at the back of the packet which simply open and pour the fine powder into a mug or bowl and mix with hot water.  Use the spoon to mix gently till smooth. 

 

Don't be deceived by the cup of purple colour drink on the packet, it is actually more to dark gray colour like the one below, probably because of the black soybean powder that make it turn into dark grayish colour.  

It is very fine and smooth, the sweetness is just nice. I use a rice bowl to serve instead of a mug.  It is ideal for breakfast, tea break or even supper.  I like it hot and dip with plain bread.  We have tried the GreenMax Golden Germ Vegetable Drink too, check it out here.

Brand's Essence of chicken

UPSR exam has been done and over with.  Hope my girl has done well in her exam.  Without much time to relax, she is taking her secondary school entry exam today.  It has been a stressful week for her for sure.  To keep her concentration and energy up to tackle the exams, we gave her Brand's essence of chicken in the morning.  She did not like the taste of it but I told her that it has been proven useful for me whenever I participated in cross country run competitions during my school years..the story cut short here because it was years ago.

 

Brand's essence of chicken has been in existence in Asia since 1920s.  Our grandparents, parents have been consuming it as health supplement, up until our generations, Brand's is still in the market with extended range of products like, bird's nest, herbal, fruit base and Innershine.  They have also improved the bottle cap with triple safety feature.

Eyes therapy with Rooibos Tea (南非茶)

The benefits of Rooibos tea are abundant.  It is originated from South Africa, therefore it is called "南非茶" in Chinese.  This tea is introduced by a friend to my better half a few weeks ago.  I have seen it in the Cosway catalogue many years ago, to discover its goodness, we bought a box to try.   

The taste is just like Chinese tea, it is completely caffeine free, rich in minerals, contains high in antioxidant, improve blood circulations and many other health benefits.  Suitable for young & old. We can read a lot of articles on rooibos tea on the websites.

My better half will keep the tea bags in the fridge each time he finishes drinking the tea.  He said it is good for soothing the eyes, don't waste the tea bags.

Sour became sweet

On working days, I stay in the office with aircons on.  Most of the time I complain it is too cold have to put a blazer on to keep me warm.  My better half whom is out and about most of the time would complain the weather is too warm that it makes him headache.

Today, on a Sunday, I can feel how he feels being in a hot day without aircon. It is unusual for me to make ice cubes, drink cold drinks or serve ice cold drinks to my girls (for reasons that the old folks have advised the ladies to refrain from drinking cold stuff)..but today is exceptional, I myself thirst for icy cold lime juice to counter the hot weather.  I gave my king and 2 princesses a bit of surprise, they happily galloped the icy cold lime juice, sour became sweet..:)

Brand's InnerShine Berry Essence

Have anyone tried this Brand's InnerShine Berry Essence?

At first I thought it is for beauty, later then I found out it is good for the eyes, just what I needed.  

I have very bad eye sight since I was young, probably because I read too much under poor lighting condition when I was little, not that I managed to score good marks but bad enough to spoil my eye sight.  

My eye sight from bad to worst due to ageing.  The thickness of my spectacle tells it all.

Hopefully Brand's InnerShine can help to restore my eye sight a little, I can't expect miracle, as you know, I will need to consume a considerable amount of the berry essence to see the effect.

I tasted a bottle last night.  It is indeed a bottle packed of thick berries mixture, pretty sweet with slight sour taste. I like it and gave a spoonful each to my daughters to taste as well,  they showed me sour faces probably because they dislike the sour taste..:D

Annual Detox

Today is the start of my 7 days detox programme.  I chose to do it right after Raya is because I would like to enjoy some good Raya food first and another reason is the school holiday.  Only during school holidays that I have got the time to do the coffee enema in the morning, the programme requires us to do 2 times coffee enemas in a day, one in the morning and one in the evening to achieve best result.

Juicing plays an important part in the detox programme.  Here's the first day of juicing in the office.  Simply refreshing and revitalising.

Rock Sugar Barley Drink

I need something nice and easy to prepare cooling drinks for my whole family.  

I found a packet of Barley in the fridge on last Saturday, that's what I was looking for.  Half way through during the cooking, we ran out of gas.^_^  I was glad that the barley does not need long hours to cook, the barley grains have soften in less than half an hour of boiling.

Barley has a lot of health benefits, I do not mind having it more often since my family love it.

GreenMax Golden Germ Drink / soup

I 've nearly forgotten about a box of GREENMAX Golden Germ in my other room's cabinet which I bought especially for my lunch in the office, it is convenient to prepare, I can just have this soup with bread or biscuits as lunch in the office.  This soup is also suitable for  my weekend light lunch at home.   

GREENMAX Golden Germ is Vegetable Flavors Health Soup Mix. It is a savoury soup.  Very western style of cream soup though it is a product from Taiwan.

There are 12 sachets of 35g each sachet, I couldn't remember how much I bought a box of this soup.

The ingredients : Yam, Tomato, Pumpkin Seeds, Green Tea, Job's Tear, Wild Rice, Flat Red Bean, Black Bean, Black Sesame, White Sesame, Wheat Germ, Oat, Buck's Wheat, Wheat (Cereals containing Gluten), Sea Weed, Pea, Carrot, Cabbage, Celery, Sea Salt.

I usually mix the dry content with very hot water from the hot water dispenser to make my cup of GREENMAX Golden Germ soup for my lunch in the office, it is nice to go with toasted bread and butter.  That's my lunch for the day.

Versatile Juicer / Juicer Extractor

After completing my 7 days Detox and Rejuvenation Program last week, the one thing that I miss so much from the program is drinking juices.

Lately, my juicer has become the most regularly used kitchen electrical appliance. Besides me craving for juices, one more reason why I make juices is for my girls, they dislike taking fruits, reject vegetable altogether in their meals. The only way to provide the nutrients that they missed out from fruits and vegetable is to feed them freshly extracted juices. Pearl will only go for cold sweet red apple juice, anything additional is a NO from her. While Crystal is more flexible, she doesn't mind having celery, carrot, tomatoes in her juices, so long as it is slightly cold and sweet.

Recently I tried juicing green papaya (half ripened). Both Clet and I like it, I am not ready to give it to the kids yet. The papaya juice not only taste nice but smell nice too. I was once told by the tuition teacher that there are a lot of health benefits by taking unripened papaya, best with the skin but I prefer to peel the skin off.
