Pottery In Telipok

After our walk about at the Tamu at Giant Kolombong last Sunday, we drove to the outskirt Telipok town to find some flower pots to transplant our overgrown palm tree and we also need pots for our desert roses that we bought at the Tamu. 

Choices of pots are more here and prices are cheaper as compare to down town.  I believe they do mass production in their own factory.

while we were looking for the suitable pots, our girls prefer to sit inside the aircon room reading her novel and play game on the phone, confirmed they are not interested in gardening.

They sell buns too ??? haaa...No they don't.  On our way home, we stopped by another outskirt town, Menggatal to have a drink, the buns in Menggatal is one of the famous in Sabah, the texture is soft & chewy. 

Weekend Tamu at Giant Hypermarket Kolombong

last Saturday was a school off day for our girls, reluctantly they tagged along to the tamu (open market place) on their daddy request.  After breakfast, we finally arrived at the tamu, finding parking it's always a problem at any tamu market places, one of the option is to double park and be alert to make way for the cars that we blocked at any time.

 

the ones that caught our girls' attentions are the cats and puppies.  We bought our dog named Lucky at this tamu many year ago.

Soursop fruits are hard to find.  I bought 2 at RM8.00 per kg here.  I was told that regular consumption of soursop could cure many diseases.  

 

My better half came for this.  Fertilised black soil for our plants.   RM2.00 per pack. 

Purple Chilli

While busy washing the dirty dishes in the kitchen, Clet told me that he brought back a pot of purple colour chili plant from her sister, Monica. What Purple Chili? With curiosity I checked it out the next day morning. I found a tiny chili plant with purple and red chillies, this is the first time I saw purple chillies as far as my memories can bring me.

I took some photos and showed them to my colleague who likes to plant chili, I know she will love to have some purple chili seeds to add on to her home farming at her backyard. She is using fertiliser from worms' compose. I would like to see how this chili will turn out to be with her worm's compose.

If you don't like to eat chili, this chili plant can also be a good house plant, it is very unique to me.

Castor Oil Plants

This is not my chili nor bitter gout shoots which I planted last week. They are not growing at all. :(. Guess I haven't got a green finger to do any planting. Some believe that those who born in the months of January to June generally have very good green fingers, whatever they plant will sure grow and bear fruits. I am born in December sure no luck in planting.

Back to the Castor Oil plants. Clet planted them a week ago for a trial (ideally it should be planted straight to the ground) . The plants are growing fast after some rain showers these few days. In order for them to keep growing, they have to be transplanted to the ground which I am sure Clet is eager to do that by this week itself.

Castor Oil seeds can be harvested in just 4 months, that is a huge plus over oil palm.

Trying to grow vegetable

I bought this bitter gourd seeds together with some chili seeds many months ago. Since Clet is very much into Castor farming now, he always brings our girls to check on the progress of his plot of young Castor trees, we did some watering on the young Castor plants last Sunday too. Some way some how under such an influence, Crystal wanted to grow her own plant too. It is thrilled to see the seeds we sowed having new shoots after a few day.

We planted some chili seeds in the pot last week till now there isn't any new shoots coming out apart from wild grass, Crystal thought those are the new chili shoots. :) Will keep checking on them who knows there are shoots coming out soon!

I am trying my luck on these bitter gourd seeds which is expiring in 2011 same as the chili seeds. This time I planted them on the ground instead of in the pots.

While digging the soil, I dug out several of this root from the ground, at first I thought is onion, later than I realised they are the roots for the lily plants which Clet cleared them off together with the wild grass.

One of the bitter gourd seed ready to be planted. Hope it will grow to give us some bitter gourds (one of my favourite vegetable).

Finally Clet helped me to transplant the cucumber and tomatoes seedlings to the backyard last sunday. Clet prefers to plant the vegetable on the ground than in the pots to allow the plants to have more rooms to grow hopefully with better harvest.

Our backyard is in such a mess that I only go out there to pick up mangoes. With a little help from Crystal, Clet managed to clear up the place a bit and transplanted the cucumber and tomato seedlings along side the fence.

Flower - Blooming Orange Lilies

After 2 days of rain in the early morning, I was excited to find the once unknown plants in front of our house has enlightened us with beautiful orange lilies. I quickly asked for the camera from Clet to snap this lily yesterday morning eventhough we were in such a rush; With another heavy rain this early morning, we found many more blooming lilies. It is such a nice feeling to wake up with beautiful newly bloomed flowers in the front yard and not forgetting ripen mangoes at the back yard.
